Madhuri Dixit

Madhuri dixit is a well-known Indian actress who is best known for the films Beta Saajan and Hum Aapke Hai Koun, and Beta Saajan. She began her career in the 1980s and came to prominence with her performance in the Tezaab film, where she starred alongside the veteran actor Anil Kapoor. She next appeared in the film Dil In which she shared the screen with Aamir Khan. In Mumbai the city she was born by middle class parents. At a very young age, she began to take dance lessons. She ventured into acting as a youngster and struggled for a few years as most of her initial films were flops. Her fame grew and she became one of India's leading movie actresses. Following her wedding, she took a time off from her acting career until she returned. She was a key character as a lead actress in Gulaab Gang, a film about women's struggles in India. Dixit was awarded the film eight Filmfare Awards out of the 15 she was up for nominations. Padma Shri, the fourth-highest civilian award awarded to civilians in India, was bestowed upon Dixit. The award was also given to her for her efforts in the field of social work.
